Apple And Adobe Working Together On Flash For iPhone
When Steve Jobs himself said that Flash wouldn’t get on the iPhone without major improvements, many assumed that was that, but not so. Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen let the cat out of the bag in a big way last week in Switzerland, stating officially that Adobe and Apple are currently working together to get Flash working on the iPhone.
Admitting that the task of getting it working on the iPhone at a satisfactory level would not be an easy one, he was confident that both companies working together would be able to accomplish it. Said Narayen:
“It?s a hard technical challenge, and that?s part of the reason Apple and Adobe are collaborating,? Narayen said today in a Bloomberg Television interview from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. ?The ball is in our court. The onus is on us to deliver.”?
We still don’t know exactly what form it will take (firmware update? Flash web browser in App Store?), but it’s definitely good news for Flash web developers.
