2.1 Update To Have Copy Paste Functions?
We heard rumors yesterday that Apple had seeded iPhone 2.1 firmware to developers. Speculation at the time was that the software would include more than just a software update, because it was version 2.1 rather than 2.0.1. Now MacNN says they have information from one of the developers that one of the new features being added is none other than the copy and paste functions everyone’s been waiting for.
According to the source, the new command was found wile exploring the Localizable.strings entry under English.lproj in the iPhone WebKit framework. Within that location are several commands currently not supported by the publicly available firmware version, including cutting, copying, and pasting. It also includes a reference to “mobile radio”, hinting that they may be looking in to locally supporting internet radio rather than relying on third party apps.
