02 CEO Hints at 3G iPhone Release Date

Over on the other side of the pond, wireless carrier O2's CEO stated that a 3G iPhone announcement is expected in "the coming weeks". This isn't an exact date, but 3G looks pretty certain and that doesn't hurt things in the least.

It sounds like they and TMobile will be having a race for 3G data performance. TMobile has hinted they will have 3G available in a number of US markets around the middle of this year.
