Who Cares?
My iPhone is very close to being in a state that will remain for the course of its life. For me there will be no need to hack any further soon enough.
Since this is my first post i have to make it good!
I installed iFuntastic 4.7.0-b006 that chris send me after i paid for the other version for 1.1.1.
Anyways I mainly use PC's (I do PC repair) and since iFuntastic was for mac and after all of the reviews i read i decided to buy a new Macbook 17" to start learning the apple side of things.
The Directions in iFuntastic were very clean and easy to follow. I had my iphone 1.1.1 (hacked) with jailbreakme for a month or so when i first started with iFuntastic I re-set the phone back to 1.1.1 (restored) After i did that , I connected the iphone to my mac and started.
Like I said the directions with iFuntastic are very clear and easy to follow.
It took about 1 hour to upgrade, downgrade, install / un-install all of the firmware on the iphone. iFuntastic tells you what to do every step, eg open itunes, re-start the phone etc.....
Only problem i had was doing the first jailbreak because i spelled the url wrong
One email from chris cleard up the problem and iFuntastic did the rest for me.
After it was done, I installed summerboard for 1.1.2 with no problems, re-started the phone and boom i am in luck,
I took the iphone off the mac , re-connected it to my PC and re-synced my outlook contacts.
All and all 100% happen with the money i spent. In fact I think more like 39$$ would be better for this software because from the looks of it, it looks like chris and them put alot of work into this and its well worth the extra money.
To iFuntastic, Good work on the beta release you sent me!
Now i just have to learn how to use a Mac and I will be all set!
Thank you,

Censorship?
What I did was wrong.
I would never think of doing such a thing to a registered user.
What I did was in defense of a registered user who has done much to help many here at the iPhone Alley Forum.
What dolli did was try to defend the spamers that plague our forum. For all I know dolli, you are one such spamers who is here to create a flame war.
This post, yours, and bitSplit's, is under review by both the administrators and by the members of the forum, both registered and unregistered.
This is a free country, but this forum is privately held and open to all that play nice.
"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
Perhaps you were thinking about the 1st amendment? (or perhaps the 2nd, to remind people you are armed and dangerous) In any case, the freedom of speech does NOT override iPhone Alley's right to control what is being published on THEIR site.

Thanks... and let me explain
What I would like the Mac and iPhone community to understand is that IMHO opinion bitSplit is riding on the coat tail of a fabulous community of programmers and is now out to make a quick buck. Why do I think that?
Well, there is a history behind iFuntastic (iF). Originally, it was a free utility that made it easy for the non-savvy users to accomplish jailbreaking and file transfer by bundling the shell scripts into a GUI workflow. Actually, that's still the case, except that iF gradually went from free to partially free to completely commercial. It's not even shareware in the strict sense, since the first step to do anything useful with this program, namely jailbreaking, already costs you and you can't even try anything without first purchasing the jailbreak.
Mind you, I have nothing against shareware or commercial software. I know from my own experience how much time goes into coding and testing. But to bundle the code that others have written and made available for free, specifically the jailbreaking part, is IMHO unethical and I'm disgusted by it. The previous version at least gave you a few tries, the latest version no longer does. Why? Jailbreaking to 1.1.2 is even easier now with OctoPrep. I really think this sucks and I know that aome people are pretty miffed at iF for doing this.
Now to the thanks. I really like iPhone Alley and I visit it daily. I am very happy that iFuntastic has not made it to the main page. In fact, I have not seen any Mac site mentioning the new release and I think for good reason. bitSplit should be ashamed of the tactics they employed. In fact, I think iFuntastic coverage should stop altogether on iPhone Alley as well. bitSplit has a web page and since it is selling commercial software, they should see how they generate exposure. iPhone Alley should not be an accomplice in promoting commercial software unless bitSplit pay for ad space, just like every other enterprise.
Of course, this is just my personal opinion and anyone can share it or disagree (yes, what I meant was of course the 1st Ammendment and not the 5th; stupid book I'm reading caused that slip...)
To dolli
I have a hard time understanding the problem you're having, but since you seem to be making this your life's work, let *me* explain a few things:
Have you heard of the concept of 'added value'? I'm simplifying the jailbreak procedure and I'm putting it together into one guided sequence of steps without going back and forth between various programs (well, sort of :-)
I could go on for a bit... but it seems my time is worth more to me than yours is to you - (and yes, I'm charging for it.)
Regards
bitSplit
Great response - True colors
"and they are riding on the coat tail of a fabulous Apple device - using the fabulous C++/Cocoa languages developed by others, and the fabulous Unix tools written by others - what is your point?"
Wow! I was just citing the praise you gave in the Welcome screen of iFuntastic: "iFuntastic would not be possible without the hard and inventive work of others"
Thanks for sharing your true opinion about the other developers. May I suggest you change your Welcome screen to better reflect your true colors?
