FTP through Netshare -    #3
I don't know if you resolved the problem with FTP across Netshare (or iPhone modem), but if you set your FTP client (such as Transmit) at the proxy, it works great.

General settings:
Proxy address: your iPhone's address on the ad-hoc network
Port: 1080
