Apple Blocks Podcaster Ad-Hoc Distribution - September 24th, 2008, 02:14 AM #1 |
![]() As if their app distribution practices weren't unpopular enough, Podcaster developer Alex Sokirynsky wrote in a blog post that has already been removed (probably because it violated his NDA) that Apple has cut him off from distributing any more legitimate copies of Podcaster though their ad hoc distribution method. While he says he was disappointed, he wasn't surprised that Apple cut him off. Alex has already handed out 1,300 copies using the method, and claims that he will try to continue to update the app, although how he will do so is unknown. If any users of Podcaster have questions about it's ad-hoc status or how it will be updated, they can contact Alex here. [via TUAW]

I agree. Too bad it'll be harder to get customers if they have to jailbreak. I wonder if app developers could unionize or something?
