New Ads 'Lonely Planet', 'Cro Mag", and 'Vicinity' Feature Third Party Apps - August 23rd, 2008, 03:37 PM #1 |
![]() Apple has begun three new iPhone ads, which they have posted on their site. The new ads demondstrate the use of the App Store to download third party applications. This is the first time Apple has advertised the download of third party applications as a feature in their advertising. The ad titled "Lonely Planet" shows downloading Lonely Planet's Mandarin Mobile Phrasebook [App Store] to find out how to ask for a restaurant recommendation. "Cro Mag" shows downloading and playing Pangea Software's Cro-Mag Rally [App Store]. "Vicinity" shows downloading ActiveGuru's Vicinity app [App Store] and using it to look up a nearby café and getting directions to it. [via MacRumors]

Not that these ads are any different than what we've seen in the past, but they sure make the whole experience appear much less aggravating than it actually is. I wish real iPhones loaded everything instantaneously and didn't need to be rebooted to run specific 3rd party apps. 2.1 cant come soon enough.

yes ive done the whole restore..setup as new phone..took off apps i wasnt using very much and i still get crashes and slow downs..more on the app store apps then cydia.
especially when there has been an update to an app store app it crashes even worse....and yes after any update or install of an app i reboot my phone..2.0.2 just sucks and it seems to have made certain things worse when they were fine on 2.0..but hopefully Steve gets this sh-t worked out cause alot of folk are getting pissed!!! including me ive actually been thinking of going back to 1.1.4 till its sorted out at least that firmware is stable enough to use the damn phone....i wonder if Steve has all these issues with his iphone? i think if 2.1 doesnt fix alot of things it will hurt apple big time. just my 2 cents |

This blogs provide nothing useful anymore, just people bi***ing about their phones. Please do me and everyone here a favor: either return your phone, exchange it, sell it, get an instinct or dare or some other dumbed down device and don't return to this site until you realize that you complaining does absolutely nothing.

lol your just as bad b-tching about our b-tching and actually your rant about us leaving this site would include michael johnston (the guy that runs this site and the podcast) who complains about the lack of stability on his iphone. So not sure were your comming from but take a chill and if you dont like the b-tching leave!
