Enter Text On Apple TV With Your iPhone -    #1

Here's a tip for you Apple TV owners. Navigating the Apple TV is usually pretty easy, but trying to enter text to do something like search YouTube from your TV using that tiny little Apple remote is a major pain. Fortunately they built a feature into their Remote app for the iPhone that solves this problem.

It turns out that if you have the Remote app running on your iPhone or iPod touch and you go to a search screen on your Apple TV, the same search field will pop up on your iPhone, along with the standard on-screen keyboard to type your search with. Charachters are entered on the Apple TV as you type.

If you haven't yet, you can get Apple's free Remote app for the iPhone and iPod touch in the App Store.

That is really good to know. I was messing around with it on the Apple TV the other day and didn't discover that feature. I hate entering text with the Apple TV remote. Thanks for the info !

Streaming Video Playback Control -    #3
I love the fact that you can set up your iTunes library on your computer to playback on the Apple TV. My Apple TV is hidden where it is difficult to reach the IR sensor, so this is very useful. I just wish I could do the same thing with my video playback.

I have my entire Music and Video library on a 1TB hard drive but I can't really access the movies without pulling out the tiny apple remote and reaching my arm in the cabinet.

I would also like my wife to be able to install it on her phone too so we can use multiple controls without reprogramming every time I'm gone.
