O2 Confirms iPhone 3G Available For Pre-Order From 8AM Today To July 11th [Update: So - July 7th, 2008, 03:23 AM #1 |
![]() There had been rumors going around that O2 would be allowing customers to pre-order their iPhone 3G's in advance before launch day in the UK and elsewhere, and since then had been gaining credibility. Now it has been confirmed once and for all. O2 sent out emails to customers informing them that the iPhone 3G would be available for pre-order as of 8AM, July 7th (today), up until July 11th, at which time they will be delivered to the recipients doorstep. The O2 Email reads as follows: "The iPhone you've been waiting for. Order from 8am today Thanks Carl! You rock! Update: According to MacRumors, O2 is now claiming on their website that they have sold out of iPhone 3G's, and is instructing customers that still want one to check back on July 10th.

Good luck with this! - July 7th, 2008, 07:08 AM #2 |

The O2 upgrade site has been up and down all morning - what a poorly written/tested application! I've now filled out the same forms 7 times, and I have 7 "O2 upgrade codes", but the whole process takes about 45 minutes and fails at one point or another. Not one of my colleagues has managed to get an order through - my advice is to wait for O2 to get their act together before you waste an entire morning pulling your hair out!

Great stuff - July 7th, 2008, 08:33 AM #4 |

I pre-ordered mine straight away! Signing up was a breeze, for me at least. Just can't wait for Friday now. It'll be nice to get it delivered to my doorstep so I can savor the opening "ritual", but I can't help feeling that I'll miss out on some of that launch day atmosphere.
And thanks for the mention! Woo-Hoo! ![]() |

3G iPhone Now Out of Stock Online - July 7th, 2008, 10:36 AM #8 |
|
Have been trying since 8:15 this morning and kept on telling me that there were technical issues or failing whilst filling in the forms. Kept on trying and now they are all out of Stock !
I have even just gone into an O2 Store and they tell me that in the 11th July, they are only doing New Customers for the iPhone in Store. Exisiting customers have to do it online, but how can if the website doesn't work or you have sold out now. Come on O2, get your act together !!!!!! |

Really? Out of stock? Mine must of been one of the lucky ones, I think I had about 15 different activation numbers sent to my phone, and about 20 different forms throwing up error messages before finally one was processed successfully at about 2pm. |
