SwirlySpace Releases SwirlyMMS v1.0 - July 1st, 2008, 06:55 PM #1 |
![]() SwirlySpace has announced the launch of SwirlyMMS v1.0 for the iPhone, the finished version of their full-featured native MMS application for the iPhone. Using the application, users can send and receive images, text, audio, video, and any other file type you want, and in any combination simultaneously. It also has a built-in media viewer so messages can be viewed within the application. Other features:
The new software can be installed using Installer.app in the Swirly Space repository at http://swirlyspace.com/SwirlySpace.xml. Unlike the previous free versions, version 1.0 will cost US$8. In 14 days there will be a free demo version available. There's no word yet [via Swirly Space]

great! out of beta!
the last time i used this a couple weeks ago, it kept on crashing and was hard to set up. 1.0 should be great, congrats to swirlyspace on a great app, but $8...

I had this for a long time on my phone, but there are so many steps with trying to get AT&T to enable MMS on your account. Then they automatically disable it after you get it working because they think it must be a mistake, so you have to go back and do it all again. I really don't understand why Apple and AT&T don't have MMS on the iPhone in the first place.

I am just wondering what do you need mms for if you have email ??? I do not use mms on my computer either so why should I use mms on my mobile ?

We need it on the iPhone because the rest of the (non-iphone) world uses it and it's quite annoying to have to ask someone "can you resend that last pic to my email please??" or to have to use the default website that AT&T uses to show you a postage stamp sized picture. Especially since the iPhone lacks another major ability.. copy and paste...
