PocketMac Announces RingtoneStudio For iPhone -    #1

PocketMac has announced the immediate availability of RingtoneStudio for iPhone, their new iPhone ringtone-making software for the Mac. The application lets users create ringtones from most movie and drm-free music files. Using RingtoneStudio for iPhone, you can create and edit ringtones from most movie and drm-free music files, and automatically sync them right to your iPhone. Video after the break.

The software includes EditingBay, a feature that helps you visually pick a 30-second clip from the movie or ringtone.

To use RingtoneStudio, simply drag an unprotected music or movie file onto the RingtoneStudio window and it will guide you through the editing process from there.

  • If the movie or song is less than 30 seconds in length, PocketMac RingtoneStudio converts it automatically into the proper ringtone format.

  • If it's longer than 30 seconds, PocketMac RingtoneStudio will open up a preview window so that you can select the exact 30 second clip you'd like.

  • PocketMac RingtoneStudio will place your completed ringtones into iTunes' "Ringtones" folder.

  • The next time you connect your iPhone, your ringtones will be automatically synched.

RingtoneStudio for iPhone requires Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5, at least 10MB of free disk space, and iTunes. It costs US$14.95. You can purchase it from the PocketMac website.

GarageBand does this for free. Why would you spend $15 to do this?
