StyleTap To Port Palm OS Emulator To iPhone After All - May 30th, 2008, 10:29 PM #1 |
![]() StyleTap has announced that they are officially porting their Palm OS emulator to the OS X iPhone platform. The announcement will mean that iPhone owners will have access to numerous existing apps that were previously exclusive to the Treo, making the argument for having one over the iPhone fairly mute. So why the sudden change of heart? StyleTap CEO Gregory Sokoloff says the devision came due to the overwhelming response to their video demo of the emulator in action we told you about back in February. When it was released, they went out of their way to warn viewers that the video was not a product and they weren't making any promises. However, since then, the video has been viewed a stunning 800,000 times, making them change their minds. "The iPhone is one of the hottest new mobile devices out there," said Gregory Sokoloff, CEO of StyleTap Inc., "And the response to our video has convinced us that many, many consumers, and companies, will eagerly jump at the change to buy iPhone devices if they can continue to run their must-have applications." More information about the product will be available in early July of this year. They also noted that they will be attending WWDC this year, for anyone interested in learning more about the project. I tend to agree with it being pretty late. Is there really a need for TCPMP or NesEm my iPhone? However, Pocketerm is one application just the iPhone just doesn't have.
