'Enable 3G' Preference Not Fake -    #1

Ok, you'll want to sit down for this because it's a little bit ridiculous. So there has been some talk flying around the web about that 3G preferences screenshot. The people who posted the information on the site that was tipped to MacRumors recently posted a disclaimer saying that the screenshot was a photoshop mockup constructed from the current firmware showing what it probably looks like, and that they absolutely did not leak an actual screenshot from firmware 2.0. They also note that anything they said was said previous to being accepted to the iPhone Developer Program.

So, basically, regardless of whether or not the screenshot is faked, the preferences for it do exist in the new firmware. We're just unsure of what specific form it will take in the user interface. The text shown in the "photoshopped" screenshot does exist in OS X iPhone 2.0 strings, shown here:

Also, if this feature does exist (even though no screenshot has been leaked), Apple would probably include this feature with the thought that 3G would probably hurt battery life. A very wise decision if you think about it.

well lets think about it? -    #2
if this menu is actually on the iphone fiemware 2.0, then it means that it will be put on the old (non 3G current version iphone) maybe there is a hidden 3G chip which wasnt working because the at&t network didnt allow for 3G speeds at the time and it will be activated with firmaware 2.0.
Or most likkely they will ship differnt w=versions of firmware to the different models of the iphone. plus app store isnt that big of a deal to call the new firmware 2.0, they could have done that with the itunes store back at the time too!

again, Im just guessing
