Briefly: Adobe Planning Flash for The iPhone -    #1

During a conference call taking place yesterday, Adobe's Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen said that Adobe has plans to bring Flash to the iPhone. According to Narayen, Adobe has downloaded the SDK and has plans to create a Flash player for the iPhone and distribute it via the iPhone App Store. "We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone," said Narayen, adding that "We have evaluated (the software developer tools) and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves."

Current restrictions in the iPhone's SDK could prevent Adobe from implementing flash on the device. However, Apple may grant Adobe special permission to bring the long-awaited feature to the iPhone.

Offering to give consumers what they've asked for instead of what Apple thinks their customers should have. The Apple forums are flooded with requests from iPhone users pleading Apple to work with Adobe on porting Flash Player to the iPhone but they've repeatedly denied those requests. The App Store will allow the customers to choose instead of Apple as long as they don't try to block Adobe from posting the application in the iTunes App Store.

No adobe -    #3
I'm perfectly happy with NO ADOBE programs on my iphone. I would have preferred flashpaper from macromedia, but adobe got their greedy mitts on it and threw it on the back burner to promote the slower and longer loading .pdf junk.
