First iPhone class-action suit against Apple & AT&T -    #1
Gizmodo is reporting that the first class-action lawsuit against Apple and AT&T is officially under way. The plaintiff is some nut-job by the name of Trujillo, and you're never going to believe what he's suing them for.

According to Trujillo, whom Gizmodo notes as "hopefuly not related to the former Dominican dictator", is accusing the companies of not properly informing them previous to his purchess that the iPhone was a "sealed unit with it's [sic] battery soldered inside", or that:

"The battery enclosed in the iPhone can only be charged approximately 300 times before it will be in need of replacement, necessitating a new battery annually for owners of the iPhone."

Oh, really? Funny, I didn't know that either!

This is Gizmodo's copy of the complaint:

There are two possible explanations for the actions of the plaintiff:
1. He's an idiot.
2. He thinks everyone else is an idiot, and therefore can make money from them.

Let's hope this ends quickly.

Heh, thanks for pointing this out to us. The limit has been lifted, so feel free to post away, even if it's just a simple "w00t"

That is a HORRIBLE iPhone Feature -    #4
Ok, so the guy has a crazy lawsuit. I agree with that. But, this "feature" of the iPhone (and the iPod) should have Apple fans in an uproar. YOUR BATTERY IS SOLDERED IN AND CAN ONLY BE REPLACED BY AN AUTHORIZED TECH SERVICE! Am I the only one who is pissed off by that?? Or is everybody so drunk on iphone gadget-wine that they don't even know that Apple is screwing them while they are drunk. I keep wanting to get excited about Apple products. They claim to be super cool in their ads. Then I hear about features like the soldered in battery and realize they are screwing the heck out of people.

Yeah, that irks me for sure. I completely agree with you. Honestly I appreciate this lawsuit because it will help. I wish that hey had figured out a better way to do the battery.

That plastic chunk at the bottom seems awfully easy to remove, why not put the battery there and make it accessible?
