"Unbreakable" Firmware & Flash Support Coming Alongside iPhone SDK - February 11th, 2008, 11:00 PM #1 |
![]() According to an anonymous tip we recently received, Apple has plans to add Adobe Flash support to the iPhone. The iPhone-compatible Flash support will reportedly be announced alongside the iPhone SDK set to be released later this month. However, the improved software will come at a price. According to our tipster, the next software update supposedly incorporates an "unbreakable" version of the iPhone firmware which is said to permanently disable jailbreaking. We've been sitting on this one for a couple weeks in order to confirm its accuracy. We feel that the recent report from Gear Live claiming Flash support is coming soon is confirmation enough. Our source is reportedly close to someone on the iPhone team.

Unbreakable? - February 12th, 2008, 12:07 AM #3 |
|
So... like the 4.6 bl was impossible to unlock?
Come on! We all know that sooner or later, a haxter will do the impossible by hacking the crap out of the little gadget, bitchslapping apple's security system to the ground! However, I should say that if the SDK will allow installation of third party apps, do we really need to jailbreak anymore? Why not just make installer official freeware through the SDK? (no worries... we will still donate!) yeah... we'll see about this unbreakable firmware. |

Exactly! it makes no sense at all! jaja
But remember also the point in the jailbrake is that it activates your phone, (i was graced by the last 1.1.2 OTB unlock) so i needed it to activate, that will be the challange! Anyway, I dont really care about ussing flash atm... but the sdk is going to be quite nice if it lets us do something like the installer does atm |

"Jailbreaking" - February 13th, 2008, 11:07 AM #6 |
|
I honestly don't think Apple cares a whole lot about Jailbreaking. I think their issue lies in the iPhones that are carrier "unlocked". With the SDK and 3rd party apps on the way, the issue to those of us with jailbroken iPhones but legit AT&T accounts will be getting non-Apple authorized apps on the phone. It's likely that the app installing interface will be iTunes. It will be a matter (albeit a difficult one) of getting iTunes to listen to our demands. Right?
