Apple Working On Copy And Paste, Exchange Email For iPhone - January 25th, 2008, 02:08 AM #1 |
![]() The lack of a copy and paste function in the 1.1.3 iPhone update was a major disappointment for many users, and even caused many to question what Apple's priorities were. Sven Rafferty hunted down a source at Macworld who says that Apple's paying attention and it's on it's way. According to the source (he spoke with numerous Apple employees), there is a simple explanation as to why there was no copy and paste in 1.1.3; they're still working on it. Apparently they're still trying to figure out how best to implement it. If you think about it, the function that currently brings up the zoom loop is what would normally bring up a secondary menu with copy, cut, paste, etc. on a Mac. They're just trying to figure out how best to do it. The source also added that this wasn't a recent development. Apple has been working on it for some time behind the scenes. The Apple source also added that they are aware of demand for Exchange support, but wouldn't offer a conclusive answer. When asked, “So is Apple not working on a solution?†he simply laughed and said, “Apple’s aware of the Exchange need.†[via Sven On Tech]
