Land Rover LRX To Be Coolest iPhone Dock Ever - December 14th, 2007, 09:52 PM #1 |
![]() Images from the Land Rover LRX have begun surfacing, and it's looking pretty awesome. The car features a stylish interior, several touchscreens, and the coolest place to put your iPhone that we've ever seen. According to the press release, the car will boast several touchscreens, one of which will be used to "control the LRX's iPhone facility." Apparently it will also have a place for you to attach an iPod docking station and a set of removable speakers right on the tailgate, though the functionality of this is questionable. Interestingly, that blue glow you're seeing there is the color of the ambient lighting in the cabin when the car is in normal mode. When it's in off-road mode it glows green, and in sport mode it glows red. ![]() (Land Rover LRX Concept Gallery) The car will make it's debut at the Detroit Auto Show floor next month. Not too functional - December 16th, 2007, 02:24 PM #3 |
|
I use my iPhone while driving all the time, probably more than I should.
If you want to use the iPhone while driving, the phone works best embedded in the steering wheel, so you can shift your eyes from the road to the screen and back to the road quickly. The phone in the center console, as shown here, works fine while the car is stopped, but is a hazard to use when driving. I have trouble believing this design will make it to market. -Ryan Brandys |
