v1.1.2 Jailbreak Before Official Release -    #1

Remember that firmware v1.1.2 update that came out today that everyone has been worried about? It was expected to be released at the same time as the UK/Germany iPhone launch this Friday, but Apple decided to release it nearly a whole day early. Well, apparently that's just enough time for the hackers to jailbreak the OS.

You know what this means, don't you? It means that a version of iPhone/iPod touch firmware has been hacked and jailbroken before being officially released! This is truly a first.

So who did the honors? The jailbreak is courtessy of hacker planetbeing. Our sincerest congratulations to the iPhone/iPod team, including Pumpkin, Edgan, Dinopio, Drudge, Kroo, and all the rest. The method still needs some refining, so when it gets debugged and has safety features put in place, we'll let you know. Good work, everyone, and thank you.

Look at the capacity in the screen shot.

Never mind -    #4
I see now that up top of the screen it says iPod. But I wonder why you used an iPod screen shot for an iPhone article...

It's an iPod Touch. Look at the top left of the status bar. It says "Pod" not "Phone." They use very similar firmware though, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
