Jail-broken iPhones Running Amok in Apple Retail Stores - October 31st, 2007, 09:02 PM #1 |
|
By now most of our readers are well aware of Apple's distaste for hacked iPhones. In fact, if they find out that you've done it, say bye bye to your precious warranty. So how might one turn this around and make a fool out of the folks in Cupertino? Well, our good friend Dr. Macenstein has spotted a photo of an iPhone taken inside one of Apple's retail stores. Ironically, this particular iPhone happens to be jail-broken and is running Installer.app. ![]() [via Dr Macenstein]

Ok, this is kind of funny, but how exactly does this make a fool out of Apple? It's just an iPhone running installer.app, I fail to see how this is getting back at them or even making them look stupid. If anything some person who knows nothing about iPhone might look at it, like it, and end up buying an iPhone before finding out that the phone needs jailbreak for those extra apps. If anything it would help Apple sell an iPhone.

Anyone can just go to the Apple store and take an iPhone and type in the jailbrakeme.com address into the Safari and they don't have to know it. And then you snap the picture and leave

Summerboard and Theme - November 2nd, 2007, 04:36 PM #15 |
|
I think the best way to smack Apple in the face is use www.jailbreakme.com then install summerboard and put something like the leopard theme, a theme with a nice background. Thats probably the strangest thing Apple left out of customizing the iPhone? Why the heck can't I put a picture behind my icons. Anyway all in good fun. Remember to restore before going for repairs = D
