iToner 1.0.3 For iPhone v1.1.1 Released - October 17th, 2007, 06:21 PM #1 |
|
Wishing you could have some custom ringtones that didn't cost twice as much as the full length song, but stuck with the new v1.1.1 firmware? Lucky you! Ambrosia Software has just released their new iToner 1.0.3. Apple's built-in ringtone maker is wonderful, but unfortunately it only lets you use songs purchased in iTunes. iToner allows you to use any MP3 or AAC file on your computer. This means that you could transfer a song ripped from a CD, or even one that you created yourself using GarageBand, if you're the creative type. Either way, now it's yours for just $15. Oh, and sorry, Windows users. This software is Mac only. Maybe next time. You can purchase the new iToner 1.0.3 from the Ambrosia Software website here.

No Hacks? - October 17th, 2007, 09:54 PM #2 |

I don't see how it works if it isn't hacking or doing the new Jailbreak. I don't trust it. I certainly will not spend $15 to brick my $500 iPhone. No thanks...

Trust me, it requires no hacking. Ambrosia has put a lot of work into this product and it works marvelously.

Works Great - October 17th, 2007, 11:18 PM #4 |

I downloaded the free trial and it syncs your phone just like Itunes does. Also you can use any song you want, not just ones purchased from Itunes. Any mp3 or AAC file will work just fine.

It works by NOT hacking into the system. It works great and won't void your warranty. It's made by a company that has been around for quite a number of years (mid 80's I recall)

Was waiting for iToner to be updated then finally installed 1.1.1. Guess what? All my custom ringtones survived and the phone still works like a charm. $15? I'd pay double!

Why do people continue to think this is a hack? There is no jailbreak, no hacking of any kind. Ambrosia promises of this on their site. This will not brick your iPhone either. Everything iToner does is in the "user area" of the phone, it does not mess with the software or anything like that. I had iToner ringtones on my phone when I upgraded to 1.1.1 and nothing bad happened, I didn't even have to restore. This is a great program and the people at Ambrosia are very dedicated and plan on continuing to keep this program running through future updates. It is definitely worth the $15.
