Internet on iPhone

I just bought an unlocked, jailbroken iPhone 3G. I'm on the T-Mobile plan with data. Do i need a WiFi to acces internet? Can i do it through GSM? If so, how do i set that up? I want some apps.

go to settings/general/network/

make sure 3g is off

go to cellular data network

APN: epc.tmobile.com

leave the rest blank. You may need to restart the phone before it works.

Remember you have to have a data plan already in place, which you said you do, and that it is going to be the edge network, not 3g. So you can try to download apps with it, but it is really slow so it may not work out so well.
