T-Mobile Ad Indirectly Boosts Sales Of iPhone App - October 23rd, 2009, 06:44 PM #1 |
|
A T-Mobile advertisement for an app for Android mobile devices actually boosted sales of a similar iPhone application with the same function. In the latest ad for the myTouch 3G, Dana Carvey is shown writing "call me" using an application that simulates steam on glass that can be wiped away. After the add aired, iFog [App Store, $0.99], an iPhone application that does the same thing, saw a spike in sales. [via Apple Insider]

the iphone does NOT need celebrities to sell it. A great product sells itself, no matter who is in the ad.

It was a caching problem. I'm pretty sure I fixed it though.

Stupid ad campaign - October 26th, 2009, 02:16 PM #6 |
|
So T-Mobile spends a premium to get celebrities for their 2 TV ads, then wastes the opportunity by showcasing trivial little nonsense apps like steam-on-glass. Why not demonstrate something more substantial? Or could it be that their phone doesn't offer anything more substantial? Hmmm...
