What about the option to disable SPOTLIGHT. I cant stand having it on the first page. How about a toggle in the prefs to hide it? anything? come on apple!!!! you over think the smallest things, yet completely ignore the obvious.

AND AT&T sucks for not coming out with MMS until sept 25th. I look at it as you owe me a refund for the last 2.5 years where i paid for the service and didnt get it. FUCK YOU.

I'm in complete agreement here. I've been paying for MMS for two years, and haven't gotten MMS for two years. AT&T, you're a joke.

Am I missing something here? How have you been paying for MMS for 2 years? I thought that the ability to do MMS on an iPhone was only just introduced with the 3.0 software. Again, maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Benm.at tethering -    #7
Does anyone know if 3.1 is compatible with the Benm.at tethering link? Whether it still works and whether 3.1 will install without 1st removing the tethering link and then reinstalling it?

i believe that it does break the tethering link from benm because earlier iphone alley reported that the 3.1 beta 2 broke this tethering link. as far as why it wouldn't be included in the final public release i have no clue but i haven't tested it to be sure because i am on an iphone 2g so tethering is pointless for me. but if i had to guess off prior knowledge i would assume it does

You should be able to still tether, providing the correct settings in APN Using the iPhone Configuration Utility (nice piece of software by Apple)
http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/enterprise/

I can't think that a firmware upgrade will negate this config tool's profiles.

Once you've created the mobileconfig with your Mobile Provider's Access point settings (found on Nokia and other mobile phone's settings, under GPRS / 3G Settings)
you can email the config file to yourself, open it up on your iPhone, and away you go.

Well, we'll see if it works tomorrow.. slow GPRS tethered connection here out in the wild tonight. (not downloading updates),
Will try to post my findings on iphonetutorialvideos , or elsewhere

AT&T was clear from the beginning that we were paying for SMS on the iPhone. Not MMS. If you thought you were paying for MMS too than that's on you. Check your bill, if it says MMS you might have a case. But I doubt it.

I don't remember ever seeing that I would have mms. Not that I would care. That's about as useful as bluetooth audio

JUST FYI: I have actually requested the REFUND and after having to argue with them for about 30 minutes they finally issued the refund for half the data plan. So go ahead and ask for it!

Yes, we are all paying for MMS -    #14
For those of you out there wondering if you are paying for MMS, yes we are. MMS is included with any texting plan you have. My old samsung had MMS from day 1 and I didn't have to pick a MMS plan. Any phone (excluding the iPhone) on AT&T can send MMS if the phone software supports it. If you don't have a texting plan you'll just pay out the butt for every pic sent. It's apple's fault for waiting til 3.0 to support it and AT&T's fault for not enabling it til sept. 25.

more features! -    #15
i stil would liek to see more features added and they are really simple!

first off since the iphone has a virtual keyboard, why not make it able to edit song information. such as title, artist, album and even have a get album artwork option right inside the ipod app. i think that would be awesome

another thing would be to be able to edit playlists straight on the device. you can do this somewhat when you make an on the go, but as soon as you plug the phone into a computer it locks the playlist and the only way to edit is is via itunes
