Briefly: Navizon Offers Refunds For iPhone Service - October 1st, 2007, 10:48 PM #1 |
![]() Navizon has begun offering refunds for their $24.95 Virtual GPS iPhone service. Unfortunatly for them, their software no longer works on iPhones, thanks to the latest firmware update. Still, they supposedly did reasonably well, resulting in over seventy thousand downloads for other phone models. “We are following the developments closely,†he said. “A lot of hackers are trying to make sure that third party applications will still work on the iPhone.†But he said that it appears that Apple has made it much more difficult to modify the phone. Mr. Houri says that they will be offering the refund to all users who purchased the software, but since no users had it for the entire 15 day trial period, only 150 copies were sold. I hope Navizon keeps the service running for the time being. Why? Because I'm not upgrading my phone past 1.0.2 and I'm showing off their cool app to everyone each time I'm asked about my iPhone.
(I'm telling people to hold off buying the iPhone until Apple blesses third-party development, and then I show people some of the possibilities....) Navizon, I'm impressed with what you've done, and I hope you're back up and running in short order. (If that happens, and you want an ongoing alpha- and beta-tester, I'm *so* there for you.) |
