Truphone To Launch VoIP For iPhone -    #1

Truphone has begun early stage development software to enable VoIP calls on the iPhone. The technology would enable calls on the iPhone at significantly lower rates than those of mobile networks, even for international calls or traveling in different countries.

They have yet to finish their software to a final release stage, but they expect to have a limited beta version in four weeks.

Currently the technology requires access to the Terminal application in order to give the command to send a call over Wi-Fi rather than the SIM card, so additional smoothing out of the software will definitely be required. They promise that their final release will be consumer-friendly, and will hopefully enable the iPhone to switch seamlessly from making SIM calls to VoIP calling and back again with ease.

its apps like this -    #2
its apps like this that cause apple to take actions to lock down the phone to developers...

i dont think the dev team should support apps that can cause a financial loss to apple.

What a super idea for software and so convenient for the consumer.
Make it happen!
It will only boost iPhone sales.
