Problem charging since 3.0 - October 1st, 2009, 11:11 PM #1 |
|
I was wondering if anyone else has been having a problem with the iPhone charging since the 3.0 upgrade. Ever since I updated my phone it will intermittently not charge when I leave it docked in my clock radio overnight. It looks like it is charging, but when I take it out in the morning the battery is dead. It does work fine with the standard charger.
Just curious if this is a common problem.

If it charges ok with the standard charger, it sounds like there's a problem with your clock radio. Try charging it with other things.
You can go to Best Buy and put your iPhone in their display radios. See if it charges.

My iPod touch charges fine in it. One other thing I forgot to mention is that the every time a sync the phone it says that it has diagnostic information for Apple

Yes, back up all your information. After that restore it, after that it should work.

No but it can happen. Try to do a soft reset when it is docked.I only use the Apple supplied cable (both with computer and plugged into the wall), I haven't had any problems. My guess would be that it's something with the actual dock. Maybe a bent pin, or something that is keeping it from charging.
