Used PwnageTool and went through the whole process.... DFU, restore, etc.
But there's no pineapples nor Installers nor Cydia icons to be found.
Am I missing something?

I'd restore and try the process again.

why don't you read one of my guides? I would guess you didn't select these programs to be installed during your use of the PwnageTool program.

I know this is odd, but I had the same problem in a couple of different ways.
First time around I used PwnageTool, and selected Cydia packages, not just the Cydia app itself. This lead to not having a Cydia icon. As noted in HackThatPhone.com and other places, this is not a good idea. Just select Cydia and move on. After that, no problems. I just restored with the new firmware package, opened Cydia and installed the stuff I wanted.
Second time around, I used QwkPwn. All was smooth, but no Cydia icon. The Installer icon was there. Somewhere on the web I found instructions to go to Settings-General-Restrictions. Turn Restrictions on. Reboot. Then go back and turn them off. Cydia icon appeared after another reboot.
Weird, but it did work.
