Hi
I have jailbroken 3G and run yellowsn0w which seems to work really well. However, I can't sync with itunes anymore- I get an error message prompting me to restore to factory settings, which I definitely don't want.
Have reloaded itunes, and changed computers- same error.
I would really like to access Fring, but need connection via App store and sync to get it on the phone.
Any help appreciated

I don't know the answer to your question but can't you install Fring over your Wifi or 3G so you don't 'need' to connect to iTunes?

I thought so too- but it seems Fring for iphone has to be accessed via Apps Store-I tried to load via Wi-Fi but it just keeps re-directing

Are you using the most recent version of iTunes and of yellowsn0w? Both of my unlocked 3Gs sync perfectly fine.

Yes-latest versions. I think it stopped syncing after I copied a file (mp3) using 4Media iphone to PC software onto the iphone.
I'm only guessing, but I suspect itunes has recognised 'changes' and now refuses to sync as part of Apple's xenophobic protection protocol.
I really don't want to do a factory reset on an otherwise functional jailbreak phone.
Any ideas?

That's it, blame it on Apple after using a Micro$oft product.

aaahmmm- not a MicroS product Bernie- it's a 3rd party util!!
I was hoping for informed suggestions rather than potshots- especially from a moderator.

I am the guy that yanks posts and defends Apple from posts like:

Your entitled to your views-but I don't understand how anyone can support a software/hardware protocol that won't allow you to copy personal, legitimate content onto an 'i' device ie unless it is purchased via Apple.

The best way to download music from Amazon MP3 is with the Amazon MP3 Downloader (available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux). This tiny helper application allows you to download entire albums with one click and automatically adds your music to iTunes or Windows Media Player. Download it now, or learn more in our Amazon MP3 Downloader Help Page.

iTunes will import most anything from any one.
There are restrictions on export due to DRM that the RIAA imposed on Apple.

Micro$oft has DRM too!
Windows Media DRM (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/drm/faq.aspx)
Ask someone that has bought a ZuNe. You can transmit a song to a friends ZuNe (which will play 3 times and then just take up space).

I hear Micro$oft is making a ZuNe Phone.
