Hey folks. I was given a 1st Gen iPhone from my girlfriend last night. I had already visited this website for the step-by-step guide and had everything I needed, the Pwnagetool, the 2 bin files, and the firmware downloaded. As soon as I plugged the iPhone in, iTunes updated the firmware to 2.2. I didn't think this would affect my unlocking plans, but it has. When I go into Pwnage and it tries to find the firmware, it cant find it anywhere on my desktop, even though I downloaded it from the link right on the page I was following. Did the 2.2 firmware affect this? I notice it downloads the firmware as a ZIP file then unzips it into my downloads folder. What am I doing wrong? Please help! BTW, this is my first post, so go easy on this poor n00b. LOL

Well, I got a little further today. I removed the .zip extension and made it all the way thru the process until the DFU mode. It said I had successfully entered DFU mode, but got no message from iTunes about it detecting a phone in recovery mode. I unplugged it, manually went into recovery mode, and got to the point where I selected the custom firmware file from my desktop. It read the file, then gave me an "error 21". Can someone help? I've since restored the iPhone to the factory 2.2 firmware and am about to start over again. Any advice would be appreciated.
