Everyone and their mother seems to want an iPhone, and people of all types are taking notice. On such person taking notice is Grant Gueninger of grantgueninger.com. He claims that he is an Apple Authorized Business Agent, and is therefore privy to information ahead of those of us that rely on the media for information about the iPhone release date. In addition, he claims that he is a programmer that can write things that "…automatically get info from web sites (i.e. when the iPhone order button appears)". What, might you ask, is he planning to do with his gift of information? He's collecting a list of emails, promising that: "The second the “order now” button appears on the iPhone page, I’ll email the store link to everyone on the list."

If he's telling the truth, then you might have a chance at a head start for ordering the iPhone. If not, you might have just fallen prey to a cruel form of phishing.

My Opinion:
I'm skeptical. Although he promises to only use your email information to send you only that one email, and even explains that he does not like spam, there are some obvious warning signs. One being that for a programmer, his web site is somewhat simple, and smacks of a template (specifically the Pool Theme by Borja Fernandez for Wordpress). Also, why would an Apple Authorized Business Agent, someone one might expect to be authorized to post Apple advertisements to their personal web site, instead choose to use average, non-Apple, AdSense Google ads that require no special authorization. As a Business Agent, I would imagine he would want to sell Apple products as much as possible with Apple ads.
