Adobe has stated in <a href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/briefly-adobe-planning-flash-for-the-iphone" target="_blank">the past</a> that they intended to port Flash over to the iPhone, but Apple has continued to stand in <a href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/adobe-no-flash-plugin-for-iphone-after-all" target="_blank">their way</a>, and for a while we had thought they had given up. As it turns out, they didn't, and have now revealed that Flash for the iPhone is ready and waiting for Apple to give the 'OK'.<!--break-->

At Flash On The Beach (<a href="http://www.flashonthebeach.com/" target="_blank">FOTB</a>), a conference in Brighton, UK, Sr. Director of Engineering at Adobe Systems Paul Betlam confirmed that Adobe is currently developing a Flash Player for the iPhone, according to <em><a href="http://www.flashmagazine.com/news/detail/flash_for_the_iphone_confirmed_at_fotb/" target="_blank">Flash Magazine</a></em>. The information came as a response to a direct question from an audience member. He says that the player will likely be available in a short time if Apple lets them do it, but right now it's up to them given the fact that the iPhone is a closed development platform.

For those of you keeping track, this is the first time that we've actually had confirmation that a Flash player for the iPhone is currently in existence within Adobe.

<em>Thanks for the tip, TheBORG!</em></div>

I can't wait to have the "Real" Internet on my iPhone! It is one of my top 2!

BlueTooth A2DP support - its not an iPod if I have to go back 5 years a pull out a corded device. I did get the adapter (however flakey) so this is not as bad
Flash - it's not the internet without it

I would think the rules still apply. If we are going to see Flash on the iPhone it will have to be full implementation of Flash. NOT Flash Lite.

I have mixed emotions, because of what Flash has done to the Windows mobile Platform. Yes Windows Plain Sucks to begin with, but the new system design for Windows Mobile has a full front end in Flash. There for Bad to worse. I would hate to see a flood of crap appear "flash for the iPhone". Emulation in emulation makes my neuron scatter.

The only good I can see with Flash on the iPhone is the movies/videos done in Flash on Websites. Flash maybe a big part of the web to the eye candy whores, but is sure has little to do with the internet ;)

Time can only tell.
