One user decided to go right to the source and ask Steve Jobs himself for a response to the problems, and he replied with confirmation that they are aware of the problem and a set date for when they will supply a fix. <!--break-->
Steve's response was short and to the point:
<blockquote>"This is a known iPhone bug that is being fixed in the next software update in September."</blockquote>
The response is good news for users who have been plagued by crashing apps, myself included. Issues have ranged from random crashing of apps to briefly loading them only for a moment before snapping back to the home screen, or my personal favorite, a complete system-wide crash and automatic restart.
The bug seems to affect mostly apps that were downloaded or updated recently, and no definite fix has ever been confirmed (although there are a few <a href="http://www.iphonealley.com/tips-and-tricks/possible-fixes-for-constant-app-crashing" target="_blank">you can try</a> if you're desperate).
The 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 updates have been similarly ineffective at fixing the issue, sometimes even breaking what was still working before the update, so it's good to know that Apple is working on a real solution.
