Hi,

I'm reading and reading around. But it would make sense I can't find my answer. Here's the deal:

- I have iPhone 3G
- Firmware 2.0.1
- Unlocked via Apple internal database

Questions:
1/ Can I use Pwnage 2.0.2 tool without screwing up my baseband? Explanation: My iPhone is already unlocked via official unlock, and when using Pwnage 2.0.2 I go through the Bootneuter step without being allowed to unselect Unlock baseband

Next 2 questions based on this picture:

2/ Can I simply select Installer packages and continue on? Will it Jailbreak the iPhone allowing to add Installer/Cydia/Custom packages and Custom Logos without trouble?

3/ Does selecting Installer packages at that step totally skip GENERAL and BOOTNEUTER or does it simply skip the screens still installing GENERAL (meaning activating the iPhone) and BOOTNEUTER (meaning unlocking your baseband) with the default settings?

4/ If it will install BOOTNEUTER to unlock my baseband, do I have any other options to skip those steps, and just simply jailbreak and install Installer/Cydia/Custom packages and Custom Logos?

Thank you,

I would go ahead and try adding installer and cydia. and on the screen with the bootneuter, select activate. it will not mess up your baseband becuase The program has no idea on how to alter the iphone 3g baseband. i do not have an iphone 3g, but Im sure if it could alter the baseband of the latest firmware we would have an unlock right now.

Cool. Still I'm wondering about question #3, any idea?

3/ Does selecting Installer packages at that step totally skip GENERAL and BOOTNEUTER or does it simply skip the screens still installing GENERAL (meaning activating the iPhone) and BOOTNEUTER (meaning unlocking your baseband) with the default settings?

My belief is that this menu selection screen in the Pwnage tool ONLY selects what option screen to display next. No matter what item you select, Installer Packages, General, Custom Logos, you will scroll through ALL of the option screens by clicking the Next Arrow.

However, the fact that you can't make any changes on the Bootneuter options page, makes me believe that this page of the 3G process does nothing. It is most likely there as a place holder for when the unlock is completed and implemented. You should be able to go ahead and jailbreak your 3G without affecting your factory unlock.

If anything happened, you could simply restore and you would be back to a factory unlocked state anyway, correct?
