same problem here. Tried to upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0 and everything works fine with Pwn 2.01 but the email?? Then you can't delete the existing gmail account or setup any others. Seems to be maybe just a permission problem somewhere??

thanks

To itsjustlenny: Try going into the mail preferences and removing all your accounts. Then go back to Mail and see if it'll load and let you set up the accounts again.

For the rest of you, if you can't get to the mail account preferences, then you'll have to delete them manually. Assuming you're jailbroken, ssh or ftp into your phone and delete the Mail folder located at /var/mobile/Library

That should fix your Mail crashing problem. You'll have to set up your accounts again, but at least you can actually GET your mail :)

ok folks, this actually happened to me when i upgraded from my 1.1.4 iPhone 1st gen, to my 3G iPhone. If your not able to override your accounts using iTunes, will give you an error that your iPhone stopped the sync, and your not able to delete your mail accounts on your phone, i've found out the only way to fix this is to do a fresh restore of the firmware.

I myself was on the phone with Apple a long time before I got this problem resolved, and wasn't too happy about it, but its really all you can do.

You'll have to make sure you create a backup, and make sure you don't have your email accounts sync over (just choose that in the preferences). Then choose the iTunes restore button on the iPhone homescreen in iTunes.

You will loose ALL text messages and notes, but shouldn't loose anything else because the restore will cover pretty much everything else.

Hopefully this helps you guys out!

////btw, i was on a nonjailbroken iPhone, so Spoons idea may work as well - so give that a shot first :)

It would not allow you to delete the default mail account so it seems that it was permissions.

BossPrefs was the fix needed. Just run 'Fix User Dir Permissions' then email worked! Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Oh man, I totally forgot about that tool. Awesome!

Can I get that for iPhone 2.0 and from where?
