the go under Settings>Sounds>Ringtone
there are i believe 7 news ones that are there i believe
what is a "normal" ringtone to you i have james bond intro and mission impossible, why not use "old phone"
i just download sounds from the internet or limewire then add them with iFuntastic 2.5. does that answer your questions?

here i would advise getting mozilla web browser and downloading the . page download extension then just download them....or possibly record your own???

if you have iFuntastic then this should work. note i am at work and have not yet tried this..
click on the "Macintosh Hardrive" make sure "computer" is highlighted then search "telephone" under the "Music" secion i got 46 hits and the one named "telephone ringing 2" is what YOU want as a normal ring.
then open your iFuntastic and import/upload the song. if you dont know how to use iFuntastic then search the tutorials or get back and ill help more
have fun.

GarageBand actually comes with a really good cell ringer that sounds like the one from the ad (why doesn't that one come with?). You can find it on your HD at
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects/Work - Home/Cell Phone Ringing.aif

Yeah, just convert it to a m4a with iTunes

I felt the same way about having my iPhone just ring (as opposed to chirping or pinging). I found a number of nice cell phone rings that I installed.
Here they are:

How do you install these tones as I have created a rintone in audacity and dont know where in the iphone to store this tone to use as a ringtone. The tutorial I was using said to "use winSCP and upload to /var/root/Library/Ringtones" but I am lost:(

hey fellas...
i think u forgot to mention this one particulary step
when u convert, using itunes, from mp3 or aiff -> m4a... u gotta RENAME IT to m4r (yeah, m, 4 and r)....
and, i had to copy it into a dif. folder...
went all the way down to first folder and then library>ringtones (didnt go to var/root/library/ringtones)...
worked perfectly for me...
btw, i´d like to contact the onwer of the website.. i could help a little, specially with corrupted master_passwd files... mine was screwed, i fixed with without SSH connection or any restore :) (im not a genious, just lucky, and willing to help)

Pedro

That's what you do, you make or download any sound you like and change the file name to m4a
and using Cyberduck you download it to your phone to Ringtones in Library, and uala you have your normal boring ringtone.
