I have an iPhone that is already hacked so i can run any sim on it. The firmware is 1.1.4 and i have some apps already installed (including installer). This was done by some techy people in Kuala Lumpur and now i want to edit some of the things on there. I have tried to connect to my computer but it won't recognise the phone. When i plug it into the computer with itunes running it tells me, "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installe. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then istall iTunes again."
I'm running windows vista.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Hi, I am in Jakarta but bought my phone in Singapore. I had the same problem when I bought mine. It was version 1.1.3 and I use a Mac but essentially the operations are the same.
What I did was one of several things. I hunted round this site and found a whole heap of things I could do from the helpful people here. Ended up that I decided to download liberty + and then to up grade to 1.1.4 This means I restored the whole phone then up graded it via Itunes and then hacked it with Liberty so that it would run on a telkomsel card here in Indonesia. Look around here for help on doing this or go to http://www.hackthatphone.com where you will get all the instructions on how to do it.
I then went back to Itunes and it restored all my data. and was from there on recognized by Itunes.
To edit inside without changing anything or restoring you can install AFPd ( through installer) and then hook up wirelessly to your computer and get access to all the directories in your phone but only do this is you are comfortable with working with files and directories. ( login is root and password is alpine )
You could buy phoneview and this will hook up to your phone via the USB cable
Or you can access the phone via any ftp type software you have as long as you have loaded the right SSH software on your IPhone ( I think) then you can edit all the files you want but be careful you don't edit stuff you need.
You can of all the last items without Itunes but if you want to load music via Itunes you need to get it to recognize your phone and sync so you will need to restore it.
However before you do any of this have a good look round this site. There are a load of people that may give you an easier solution.
Good luck.
