Hey guys,
My problem is that after I install an application, i cannot see it as a button, or even in my uninstall file. This all started happening after I downloaded cyberduck for an attempt at using the NES emulator but that experience sucked big fat butt too.
Can someone PLEASE help??? I just want to use the apps I install from installer. Sounds like a fairly easy thing.
Basically after the program (game/whatever) installs, the phone just goes back to the home screen. No loading circle, no vibrate, no nothing.
It's like I KNOW I installed them, but where the hell are they?
Damn iPhone!!!

If they aren't showing up anywhere, they aren't installed. I had the problem with Customize. It showed up on the springboard, and I could open it. It just didn't work - and it doesn't show up in the installer, because it didn't install fully. It looks like if something doesn't finish installing completely, it's not installed at all. And with the symptoms you're describing, popping back to the home screen, sounds like Installer.app is busted.
What firmware are you running?

I am using 1.1.4. Ziphone. But I went ahead and re jailbroke, and that fixed it. Just lost all my crap, but I guess that is an expected result.
But now my damn installed won't update. I have 3 updates sitting in the queue but they fail to upload.
Does anybody know how to alleviate this stuff???

I have a couple in the queue needing update that time out during download. I think a few of the sources are offline. Is that what you're getting? A timeout during download?

It's wierd and confusing. The iPhone will pull up UPDATES automatically, but when you go to install them it says "ERROR Package download failed!"
This makes no sense, because if it can download the fact that the phone needs updates, what the hell keeps it from actually updating???
Is it getting info from many different sources, and the updates are from an offline source??

Good point, Zawan. It was just a theory from me though. Perhaps the packages are corrupt or something? Well, that's about where my theories end. That's all I got.
