If you’re anything like me, you probably sat there the first time thinking, “What? No.” It seems, however, that developers aren’t as much to blame as we first thought.<!--break-->

Force quitting the application or rebooting the phone oftentimes allow you to start the application fresh, but constantly forcing your iPhone into uncomfortable positions can get old, and quickly. Developers delved and pored into various crash logs and discovered that the fault lies not in the applications code, but with the 2.0 firmware that was claimed to be so ‘final’.

An increasing number of people are beginning to think that the new firmware is a highly unstable, and I’d have to agree with them. While the crash logs seem to be hidden somewhere in someone’s database, I’m going to have to side with other reporters and accept the word of veteran developers.

I call shenanigans on Apple, and it might not be the best idea to get too agitated with the new faces of development just yet.

This is not good news. I get tired of having to reboot my WinMo device approx once every other day or so. I was looking forward to not having to do this on my new iPhone. Hopefully this gets corrected soon.

I think an update is on the way. Bummer because it sounds like a lot of the apps are a must have.

i'm hoping that it can be fixed soon. my ipod touch won't respond to any touch which means i can't even "slide to unlock". I'm guessing that it's because of the 2.0 update cause i've not had this problem before and after restoring the phone 6 times without putting any apps on each time, it still continues to act this way. Apple, you've disappointed me :(

i think these problems will be fixed over the course of several firmware upgrades as apple will continue to improve stability in each one.

I have crashed a few times with some applications. From deleting it off of my phone or trying to install. I had to fully restore my phone because of fatal crashes.

facebook and other apps makes my phone restart sometimes, other times they just crash immediately. unstable is the word here. my email is also having problems (gmail specifically). this firmware sucks.

Well I'm not sure if bricked is the right term, since I was able to use third party software to get into the iphone and delete all the control files so I could restore.

But until I did this an app crash would often be followed by a freeze on the Apple logo -- and no response to attempts to restore (pressing home button while connecting). The only way to get it to restore would be to go in and delete files first.

Add the incredibly slow backup up on each sync and you have a lot of frustration -- I've been wasting days ... a tribute to the addictiveness of the apps themselves.
