Has anyone had any success with the iPhone working with the Klipsch iFi system??

not personally, but klipsch stuff is usually top notch! I have some of their speakers and they are amazing!

I have a Klipsch iFi that I've been using for about 2 years with my 60GB iPod. I just got a 3G iPhone and have used it in my iFi and it works great. The iPhone reports it as unsupported device and want to switch to airplane mode, which is what it does with all devices it detects as such. This prevents the radio interference from the phone/data connection. It gives you the option to not switch to airplane mode and this is how I use it as the Klipsch setup is so well made it doesn't seem to be affected by interference. The only drawback is that the iPhone will not charge while connected to this (because it is an unsupported device). I think that iPhone compatible devices my have to explicitly report themselves as such. It would be awesome if Klipch would release a replacement dock for this system that added true iPhone support.

Oh yeah, and my friend has an original iPhone that I've hooked up to it and it behaves the same way.

@ crazyburns. That is VERY INTERESTING and I REALLY appreciate the input. I have the iFi at my desk at work and it works ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC with an iPod. However, when I tried putting a co-worker's 1st gen iPhone into it, it gave me the same error message you mentioned, but then would NOT play the music. Perhaps once I get the new 3G and try it out, hopefully I can get it to work o.k.

I'm surprised it won't charge. Here I figured I would always have a place to charge it at work. I had the same thought about Klipsch releasing a new dock, but I doubt they will since they aren't making the device itself anymore.

Thanks.
