Apple today confirmed that the 2.0 firmware for the iPod Touch will include the firmware update announced in January. That means that those who did not upgrade earlier this year will be receiving the Maps, Stocks, Mail, Weather, and Notes applications along with the App Store. While free to iPhone users, iPod Touch users must pay to upgrade to the latest firmware, and a set price has yet to be disclosed. Those who buy an iPod Touch later this month will receive the App Store preloaded, along with the 5 applications. The January update is no longer available, so those that merely wanted those applications are out of luck, but I can not imagine why you would not want the App Store. The iPod Touch App Store page is still unavailable, but can be found here. The 2.0 firmware found for the iPhone does not work for the iPod Touch.
