I have an iMac G5 also, it has and 802.11g airport card in it. I believe the 'n' version of 802.11 came out after they discontinued making the G5. but im not sure. I just know I have 802.11g in my iMac G5.
Hope that helps.

It's DEFINITELY not an 'n' card. It is 802.11g, though. You know this because it's an "extreme" card.

The very last iMac G5:

if you have Intel inside, there is a software update to make it 802.11n. Apple knew it was coming but it had not been approved at the time of the release of the hardware.
G processors are ole school IBM chipsets and not compatible beyond a,b,and g.

Thanks, everyone. Snoop, my System Profile is different. Are you running Leopard?

Sorry, that's not actually System Profiler. It's a nifty app called Mactracker. It's a HUGE database of (nearly) every Apple product. It's very cool.

Actually this is a great tropic about forum. So, we can take a decision about what is the information technology and how to use it correctly. In addition to peoples can get remarkable ideas about globalization. As my belief, this is one sociology method in IT field and more important for the build up to future.
