Some of you may remember them as the people who created a <a href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/polar-bear-farm-offering-contact-search-video-capture-tools-for-iphone" target="_blank">Contacts Search</a> solution for the iPhone before Apple did, <a href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/showtime-records-video-on-your-iphone-sort-of" target="_blank">video capturing</a> tools when Apple still hasn't, and the location-aware Twitter client <a href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/twinkle-adds-location-features-to-twitter-on-iphone" target="_blank">Twinkle</a>. I'm talking about Polar Bear Farm, and they were one of the developer companies to made an apearance at WWDC. TUAW's Brett Terpstra got a chance to snag a few words with PBF's Guy Horrocks, where they discussed their relationship with Apple while openly offering apps for jailbroken iPhones, the move from Installer.app to the App Store, and his opinoin on some of the apps shown at the keynote. You can watch the video at <a href="http://www.tuaw.com/2008/06/15/wwdc-08-polar-bear-farm/" target="_blank">TUAW</a>.<!--break-->

I understand that these issues can (and probably will) be solved by 3rd party applications, but I still can't understand why Apple wouldn't handles these issues themselves. Especially with the amount of control they like to have over their products.

Does anyone know if Apple released any info in response to these questions that have been around for over a year?

Especially with regard to Copy/Paste. You would think this would have to be integral in the operating system as opposed to a 3rd party download. IMHO, lack of video support is not that big of deal, but why MMS is not included is beyond me.
