You can restore back to 1.1.4 and then use iliberty+ from this guide:

No need to restore, just use an application like ZiPhone to perform an "Activate" process. DO NOT use the unlock procedure as you may mess up your phone.

ZiPhone has the highest chance of screwing up your phone. Go with the iLiberty+ option instead. Also, if need be do a search on google for ZiPhone failures and you'll see what I'm talking about.
