Problem after Keypad Graphics change

I followed the tutorial on HACK-THAT-PHONE to change the keypad graphics... but for some odd reason... its not working

after replacing the PNG in the Applications\MobilePhone.app folder. All my icons become unresponsive. If I click any icon it goes dark & nothing happens... no application launhces!

Luckily i had a backup of the folder... so i have reverted back to the original Dialer Keypad.

Would appreciate some help I really like the RETRO Dialer and want that on as my keypad.

Sounds like you are replacing with a file that is not compatible with your firmware version. MAke sure you are using the right dialer files, I know I ran into thins problem when trying to change my dialer around. Possibly try another file.


What dialer files are you changing exactly... through what directories??

Guys, I've also had this happen installing the "wood dialer" on 2g with v2.0.1 on it.

I've tried restoring the MobilePhone.app folder from another 2.0.1 clean, but no soap.

I dont wanna have to wipe it all again!!

If all you want is the retro dialer, then don't use my tutorial, just install it via Cydia.

I downloaded retro dialer via Cydia, but now I can't get rid of it. I uninstalled it using Cydia, but it's still there.

Any ideas?
