Can anyone post a correct way to fix it? I see everyone throwing stuff out there, but it never seems to work. Is there a REAL and absolute way of fixing this?

not unless you update and use the real 1.1.3. Google maps needs the newer baseband.

I'm assuming you have just jailbroken 1.1.3, where since the baseband is not upgraded, location is not available via google maps, unless you have a contract with the official provider in your country.
You can however use installer.app on your iphone to install an application called "locate me" This will enable location as long as the app remains installed. *Note this is just a work around and not an actual fix

Went from a jailbroken/unlocked 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 from the Dev Team, not one single problem. Then, added the app LocateMe from the installer. Boom .... the Maps application triangulated me spot on in Helsinki! Unreal.
I am on the Sonera network here.

I'm on a OtB 1.1.2 jailbroken and softupgraded to 1.1.3. I installed Navizon via the installer ran it once and googlemaps works fine now.
Hope you can use this.

You can now run anysim to unlock the 1.1.3 firmware if your on the 1.1.1 or lower baseband

This is partially true. You still have to go through the 1.1.1(OktoPrep) -> 1.1.2(1.1.3 Soft Upgrade(Official Dev Team Release)) -> 1.1.3. From there you have to use the newly released ieraser method that will allow you to restore baseband to the proper 04.03.13_G baseband. From there you will reboot and then run the new AnySim 1.3 while having the phone in Airplane mode. If you're already on 1.1.3(non O.T.B. or 4.06 Bootloader) Dev Team method, then all you have to do is follow through with the ieraser part and you're set.
