Hi all, another n00b needing help...

Currently I have T-Mobile (U.S.) and I would like to SIM unlock my phone. I am turning to you guys because I am a little confused with all the info I've been finding online, and I was hoping someone would help me out here. The thing causing the most confusion is talk of phone firmware (i.e. 1.0.2 etc.) AND the modem firmware (i.e. 04.02.13_G).

I bought the phone today on 1/21/08 and I have found out the following things:

It was manufactured on the last week of -07 (SN# 88752XXXXXX) and it has firmware version 04.02.13_G.

There are some great resources for unlocking an 1.0.2 version phone, and I've looked into the possibility of downgrading the firmware on mine. However, there are sources warning about having an "incompatible combination" of the phone firmware and the boot loader, which could make the phone inoperable. Unfortunately I have no idea what the boot loader version on mine is.

My biggest fear is that I turn the phone into a brick and can't even go with an AT&T plan, which is my least favorable fallback option.

Is it possible to unlock this thing w/o hardware changes? If so, could someone please help me out and I would be forever grateful.

Thanks!

I'm sorry, were you asking me to confirm something? And if so, what. I'm just not sure if I understood your post correctly.

Thanks!

Hi,

I was trying to find out if you have find method of unlocking 1.1.2 version of iPhone with 46 version as per the post? IF so what method

I found out in forum and ebay that you can buy

http://www.stealthsim.com/thankyou.htm

and then unlock using below link

http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=461

Not sure if any one has tried it so far?

Let me know

you are getting your terminology mixed up heh heh. You can JAILBREAK the phone using that link and spoof the Iphone with a StealthSim (that is what I did)

But you can't unlock a 1.1.2 yet with just a software method

So you are saying that I can Jailbreak Iphone but I can't unlock using link above or software?

So that means that unlock will not work and I would not be able to use my sim card?

Correct me if I am wrong
