Hey all,

Bought a new OTB 1.1.3 Saturday. A question if anyone knows...

Rolled back my OTB 1.1.3 firmware to 1.1.1, jailbroke it. I know that anySIM doesn't work, so...

Does an OTB 1.1.3 like mine have the same bootloader and baseband as an OTB 1.1.2? (mind you I have no idea what a bootloader or baseband is at this point).

If so, is it logical that I could get one of these "stealthsims" or "turbosims" or "nextsims" and give that a go? Because some of those say that they are working on OTB 1.1.2's.

I know the "stealthsim official response" is no, but if 1.1.3 and 1.1.2 have the same bootloader and baseband, there's no real reason if i've rolled back to 1.1.1 and jailbroken it why it wouldn't work, right?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

The 1.1.3 phones have been on store shelves for less than a week.

Knowing what works and what doesn't isn't exactly common knowledge yet.

If the manufacturer of a product says "no, it won't work on 1.1.3 OTB phones" why would anyone argue that? If there was the slightest chance that it worked, the company would say "HEY! OUR PRODUCT STILL WORKS!" in order to sell more to the people that just got the new phones, but no, they are saying it doesn't. I would listen to 'em until they say otherwise.

The 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 O.T.B.'s do not share the same baseband. The 1.1.2 baseband is version 4.02.13_G while the 1.1.3 baseband version is 4.03.13_G. This is the reason why the TurboSims and StealthSims currently do not work on the latest iPhone firmwares.

You mean OTB 1.1.3 can be downgraded to 1.1.1 and then jailbroken? I live in bangladesh and i have asked a friend of mine from USA who will be visiting here shortly, to buy one iphone for me. Most probably he would have bought it today (25.01.08) which means it will be 1.1.3 version. I was thinking i will be left with a nonfunctioning phone until 1.1.3 is jailbroken.

But i am happy to see your posting. Are u sure that i can start using the phone atleast as an ipod touch by downgrading and jailbreaking?

Thanks

Hey TexasMan,

2 ways i've found. Either download it using Firefox instead of Safari. It will download the file without .zip. Or just remove .zip so that only .ipsw remains. Sometimes this makes the file a folder rather than the lego block .ipsw that you need though.

Once you've done that, go into restore mode and option click restore in itunes. Navigate to the 1.1.1 file and you're on your way.

To the cat in india, yes, i have a 1.1.3 OTB and I successfully downgraded to 1.1.1 and jailbroke it. I'm using it as an iPod touch at the moment, until there is progress in 1.1.3 or until the SDK comes out and they release 1.1.4 or whatever they're going to do. Then those genius dudes can start grinding on this beast and making it possible for us att haters to use our t-mobile sims.

When I try to restore from the file it says Error occured (1).

Anyway around this? IM following the instructions exactly but I do not know why it will not restore from 1.1.1 file I downloaded.

hey guys can you help me with my iphone prob? my dad handed me the iphone already unlocked and is working with a sim here in the Philippines.. one time, i connected the iphone to iTunes and accidentally hit the enter button on the pop up window saying to download and install a newer version of the iphone (i.e 1.1.3) so what happend was all the settings of the iPhone was changed to the default.. meaning it seemed like a brand new one.. i asked my friend to unlock it for me.. he did it but the only problem left is that any sim here in the Philippines is no longer recognized.. all the features are working except for the phone functionality..

after jailbreaking it, my iPhone's now in Version 1.1.1 and modem firmware is on 04.01.13_G.. i don't understand anything about this stuffs at all.. but can you shed some light for me in one way or another on how to go about it..pretty please…thanks a lot..

Hi fourtrack! Can u please elaborate on this, on how u jail broke 1.1.3 because i need to do the same.

As per this sites' guide

"Firmware 1.1.3
Nothing is known about this firmware yet. No jailbreak or unlock is available at this time. If you have an unlocked or jailbroken iPhone then you should NOT update your iPhone."

this is what is given by mjc.

Please take a moment to give the details.

Thanks in advance.
