Right now there are a limited number of iPhone accessories that will work with iPhone's line out port. There have been rumors that Apple may fix this with a software update, but at this point nothing has been announced. As far as I know, you can still use the headset jack, but this isn't the best solution.

Check the front page for any updates on this because we want iPhone working in our cars as well :)

I have been able to successfully use it on the Version 2 MusicLink from Honda (which is an Apple branded Honda Accessory).

It does recommend turning on Airplane Mode, but the GSM buzz isn't bad if you listen to music slightly elevated (nothing extreme, but just over what you would use if you still wanted to talk to your passenger).

Turning off the radio alleviates all problems, but obviously you just bought yourself a $600 8gb iPod.

FYI - any FM transmitter will work (might need the extension so it fits in the recessed port) but it will work. Definitely want to disable the GSM radio though, those two fight like two cats in a bag.

Same here on Alpine. Works fine other then the "GSM buzz" if you don't put the phone in airplane mode when prompted.

I too have the Alpine kit. But I have never gotten the GSM buzz. Whats nice is how the music fades out as a call comes in. Take the call on bluetooth and when you hang up the music fades back in.

Just purchase the Motorola t605 Bluetooth device. It works great, great clear audio, wireless. It'll drop you about $100 + $65 for professional installation by Best Buy.

Ten dollars will score you a Cassette adapter anywhere these days. A little trim job on the headphone plug to get it to fit the iPhone and WaLa, sound from your iPhone. Hey it may not be pretty, but it is immediate gratification.

That little adapter looks cool, but I prefer the Belkin RoadTrip.

I have a 2008 grand prix. I ordered an adapter on Crutchfield and I am able to play my iphone through my stock radio. I have to toggle between XM and Aux by pressing track up twice then track down twice, however it works great and is very clear.

I have a Pioneer and I bought the 50 Pin connector from Circuit City. I got The iPhone to pay through the stereo but I cannot see the Data on the iPhone, it reads accessory Connected, and my Pioneer does not display the data. So I decided to go with the Aux Jack and the HeadPhone cord, it works great but I have to keep my phone on Airport mode or my speakers go crazy.

Some third party companies provide adapters that work with car stereos. These adapters not only allow you to listen to your iphone through your stereo, but also allow you to charge your iphone at the same time. Check these guys out: http://www.usaspec.com/
