Hi,
I use the iphone most of time for read/send emails and web with wireless always on e with automatic brightness. Always in the end of the day the battery is low!!! The really use is only for 3-4 hour + the time in stand-by!!!
Is it normal?

Wireless always on and no wireless connection will drain it, just as being out of service area and it always searching.

does charging it every night or whenever i can, lower the lifetime of the battery/damage it in anyway? I want my battery to last as long as possible before i gotta send it in to change

A battery can only be recharged so many times. Keeping it fully charged is cool provided you drain it down pretty good and it NEEDED recharging. Batteries develop something called memory where they think they should be recharged after a certain amount of usage. Like me thinking I need a nap after lunch. The newer batteries they say have resolved these memory issues. Okay. Do I practice what I preach? For the most part.

yea i heard you can only charge it like 300 times in its lifetime before you gotta pay apple to replace for like $100, one of the suckiest things about the iPhone

but doesnt the iphone charge once connected to itunes...

The iPhone is supposedly good for about 400 full charges. What's important to note is that the phone should really be fully discharged about once a month. In the mean time, charging the phone when it is only half empty will take charging it twice to equal one charge. Here is a simpler explanation for the youngsters on the board...

400 charges taking the phone from dead to full.
800 charges taking the phone from 1/2 full to full.
1600 charges taking the phone from 1/4 full to full.

Make sense? So by charging it more often you will be able to charge it more than 400 times.
